The Greenwood Academies Trust are looking to appoint an inspirational and successful leader to a new Head of School post.

The successful candidate will manage the academy day-to-day and lead the delivery of a broad and balanced curriculum which meets a range of needs alongside a talented academy team.

About us

We are a large junior academy, with a committed staff team, serving a wonderfully diverse community in Peterborough. The academy, last inspected in February 2023, is considered an ‘improving academy’, with the new leadership team making positive strides in addressing key priorities. We are looking to appoint a Head of School to continue to build on our successes!

As an academy, we work hard to meet the needs of all our children and are totally committed to the principals of inclusion. We are experienced in inter-agency work, and our dedicated staff team are focused on ensuring that every child receives the highest quality education and care. As a team, we know that every child needs the very best teaching and support in order to flourish.

You will also work to further improve achievement across the academy identifying areas for development through accurate evaluation and quality assurance whilst ensuring that you work effectively with the local community to maintain the strong profile of the academy locally. 

You will have support from the wider trust network of experts and have access to informal and professional development. 

Are you a leader who:

  • Has relevant and up to date knowledge of teaching and learning strategies across the primary phase;
  • Is excited about working with colleagues to continue to develop an aspirational, inclusive and broad curriculum;
  • Leads staff effectively to deliver high quality learning experiences for all pupils, including those with high levels of educational need;
  • Has a thorough understanding of factors that influence pupil performance and how to overcome barriers to learning;
  • Has strong organisational skills and is relentlessness in driving educational improvement and raised standards for all pupils;
  • Has significant experience of leading and developing others;
  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Has previously led a team of people through change and improvement;
  • Has the skill and ability to engage parents and the community in the life of the school.

We are hoping for a start date of April 2024, depending on the successful candidate’s current position. 

A relocation package will be considered for the successful candidate.
