Train to become a teacher with the Greenwood Academies Trust and benefit from a tailored package of support and development from outstanding, experienced teachers and tutors. This is a 1 year course.

In conjunction with our accredited providers, The Cambridge Partnership, Bishop Grosseteste University, Nottingham Trent University, and the University of Nottingham, the Trust is offering School Direct training places. Based at Weston Favell Academy, trainees will study for a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) with Masters credits, and a QTS award.

Since 2013 we have successfully trained more than 100 teachers through School Direct, with an impressive 100% employment rate upon completion of the course. 

In order to apply you must have: 

  • An understanding of teaching in a UK mainstream classroom  
  • GCSE grade C/4 or above in English and Maths (and science for Primary trainees)
  • Degree at 2:2 or above
  • NARIC certification for overseas Degree/GCSE equivalence

If you want to train to teach Geography, this is the course for you. These are fully funded and also come with a bursary. You need to apply for and be offered a School Direct place before starting a SKE course, so please keep this timeframe in mind.
