The Wells Academy are looking for a Science Teacher to support the development of the Science faculty and take on middle leadership responsibilities as the ‘Standards & Progress Leader’ . The successful candidate will join an Academy with an experienced, committed and dynamic Senior Leadership Team and will play a key part in the next stage of the Academy’s remarkable turnaround journey.

The successful candidate will be an outstanding teacher who is committed to supporting students to become expert learners. The Academy has worked hard developing a fantastic culture for standards and behaviour and are now focusing on ensuring that all learners experience fantastic learning every lesson, every day.

As a ‘Standards & Progress Leader’ the successful candidate will take a lead on student achievement within the faculty and will use a detailed analysis of assessment and attainment data of students to inform the faculty’s intervention plan. They will ensure that all students are ably supported to achieve the very best outcomes and will ensure that both staff and students understand what they need to improve in order to make. The ‘Standards & Progress Leader’ will also work with the Faculty Leader and Teaching and Learning lead to ensure that the curriculum and assessment in the Science faculty supports students to make the very best progress.

Working as part of the Greenwood Academies Trust MAT you will be fully supported to develop and deliver a world Science curriculum experience which leads to students going on to achieve amazing levels of success. To ensure that you have enough time to develop your leadership your teaching load will not exceed 70% timetable. We welcome applications from teachers with existing leadership responsibilities looking for further progression or teachers looking to take their first steps into middle leadership.
