Director of Attendance & Welfare

37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year

£34,834 - £37,336 FTE (£30,638 - £32,839 pro rata)

The role:

Weston Favell Academy are seeking to appoint a Director of Attendance & Welfare to have strategic coordination of the Attendance and Safeguarding Team to improve levels of pupil attendance and engagement and promote positive attitudes towards regular school attendance. 

With a proven track record demonstrating impact of improving attendance and reducing persistent absence in a secondary school, you will manage and operate an effective Attendance, Welfare and Safeguarding teams driving Academy and statutory procedures.  Reporting to Senior Assistant Principals for Safeguarding and Attendance, you will work closely with a number of stakeholders and will report on the strategic approach to address attendance and welfare concerns.  You will have excellent communication skills with experience of working with sensitive information and be fully conversant with current DfE guidance on school attendance and punctuality.

The successful applicant will support and direct the relevant teams to have a presence at all relevant school events including Open Evenings and Parents’ Evening to promote the expectations for attendance positive attitude to learning.

Due to the nature of the role, a full driving licence will be required with the use of a vehicle with business insurance; mileage expenses and the cost of business insurance will be covered by the Academy.
