About the role:

We are looking for an energetic and hardworking IT & Computer Science Subject Technical Specialist to start January 2025.

Our ideal candidate will have a passionate and uncompromising commitment to pupil achievement and be a believer in the potential of young people, with a mind-set that all young people can experience success. Within the Vocational Curriculum Area, IT/Computer Science follows the KS3 National curriculum and delivers the Cambridge Nationals and Technicals at KS4 and KS5, with the goal of preparing students in their future careers and inspiring the next generation.

We are looking to appoint a teacher with a passion in IT and Computer Science who can, lead, inspire and upskill other teachers; along with the creativity to develop and expand the current curriculum, in particular in Computer Science, to ensure we are meeting the needs of all our students.

We are committed to the pursuit of excellence and are team players with a strong desire to work collaboratively. The Vocational Curriculum Area has a strong team of new and experienced teachers who are always looking to support each other to continue the success we and our students enjoy.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Vocational Triad who are dedicated to driving consistency throughout the faculty by improving the teaching and learning and outcomes of each subject. Kingswood Secondary Academy is at heart of the community where every child is known, valued, and supported.

We warmly welcome potential candidates to come on what we refer to as a ‘Walk and Talk’. This usually takes less than an hour, can be during the academy day or after school has finished. We find this provides a great opportunity for candidates to get a really good insight into Kingswood, prior to submitting an application. Please email jlawson@kingswoodsecondaryacademy.org if you would like to come in for a ‘Walk and Talk’.

Due to the impending October resignation deadline, we have a closing date of Wednesday 16th October, and will be inviting candidates to interview on Friday 18th October.
