We are looking for a Leisure Assistant to join our friendly sports team here at Stanground Academy.

The Role

Stanground Academy is proud to own a fantastic and well-equipped dual-use Sports Centre which includes three sports halls, a multiple workstation fitness-suite, a 25-metre swimming pool, which will be accessed by 1350 pupils and the general public. We are seeking to recruit casual Leisure Assistants who will provide all visitors to our Academy Sports Centre with a friendly and positive experience through delivering effective customer service whilst maintaining a safe environment. As a Leisure Assistant, you will be multi-skilled; as a receptionist and lifeguard, responsible for ensuring all the Centre’s facilities are clean and prepared for use.

The Requirements

While an NPLQ qualification is essential for this role, as a new position in a new business you will receive extensive training. Leisure Assistants will be encouraged to develop with opportunities leading to other roles including fitness, sports coaching and swimming instructing.

  • physical skills like movement, coordination and dexterity
  • knowledge of first aid and life saving techniques

  • patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations

  • to be able to carry out basic tasks on a computer or hand-held device
