Salary: £27,711 - £32,654 (£24,049 - £28,338 pro rata)

About the role:

We have an exciting internal opportunity to appoint an enthusiastic and caring Learning Mentor to support the Academy by meeting the needs of students (across all subjects) who are in the early stages of learning English as an Additional Language. 

The appointed Learning Mentor will take a lead role in addressing the needs of pupils requiring particular help to overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential by developing their skills.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Can act as a role model, challenge and motivate, promote and reinforce self-esteem and establish productive working relationships with pupils and develop 1:1 mentoring arrangements.
  • Has to ability to deliver learning activities to pupils within agreed system of supervision, adjusting activities according to pupil responses and needs.
  • Can work closely with the Head of Department/Key Stage Leader to support the needs of targeted groups of pupils.
  • Can act in accordance with Trust policies and procedures and relevant legislation, particularly in relation to child protection and behaviour management.
  • Has high expectations of themselves, always striving for the best.
