Salary: £22,366 FTE (£7,869 pro rata)

Hours of work are 15 per week. 

We are seeking to appoint a Catering Assistant to join our team here at Wells Academy. 

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Knowledge of Government Nutritional Guidelines.
  • Knowledge of Allergen Legislation.
  • Experience of working in volume Catering.
  • Hold a food hygiene certificate.
  • Have a NVQ level 2 in Catering & Hospitality or be willing to work towards one.

The role: 

The successful applicant will provide support to the Catering Manager, ensuring that all catering services are of the highest possible standard. You will be required to prepare meals and provide a friendly and efficient service to all staff and pupils.   

Working as part of a dedicated catering team, you will need to demonstrate:  

  • Excellent hygiene and health & safety practices 
  • Good organisational ability 
  • First class communication skills 
  • Experience in preparing and serving food, with school kitchen knowledge being desirable  

The successful candidate will hold a Level 2 Food Safety Certificate.  Also holding a Level 2 Diploma in Kitchen Services and having knowledge of HACCP would be advantageous.
