Salary - £22,737 - £23,114 (£6,933 - £7,047 pro rata) 

Interview date: Thursday 14th December 2023

Start date: Monday 8th January 2024

This role is for Monday and Tuesday - no flexibility

We are seeking an outstanding Learning Assistant to support pupils in the classroom at the Studfall Academy.

You will be instrumental in supporting the Class Teacher to ensure the development and learning of pupils within the class. This position will include working with small groups and on a one to one basis.

About you:

Whilst training will be given on some aspects of the personal care element of the role, we are looking for an organised and caring person who can engage pupils to inspire a love of learning. You should: 

  • have a range of behaviour management strategies and teaching skills
  • be well organised and have high expectations of achievement and behaviour
  • possess excellent communication skills at all levels in order to be able to liaise effectively with parent/carers and outside agencies
  • experience with pupils with additional needs essential
  • be able to support learning across a primary setting.

Possessing an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Child care and education, experience with pupils with additional needs and ability to support learning in a primary setting are essential.

Our academy is much larger than the average academy with four classes per year group, bringing great opportunities for teamwork and collaboration. Our academy is formed of Studfall Infants, and Studfall Junior collating of years from EYFS through to year 6.

We chose to become part of Greenwood Academies Trust (GAT) in 2018 and joined as a good school. We have a designated special provision, which reinforces our inclusive ethos and also enables staff to gain wonderful experiences of working with children with SEND and gaining invaluable skills. The academy is part of the Greenwood Academies Trust (GAT). We also have very close and vibrant relationships with Studfall Junior Academy – with a shared Academy Council and joint staff training. All GAT academies work collaboratively to share best practice and are supported by the expertise within the Central Team to enable them to focus on teaching and learning.
