Salary: £21,575 - £21,968 FTE (£7,557 - £7,694 pro rata)

We require an exceptional Assistant Chef to deliver a first class food service to pupils and staff.

The role:

The Catering Department are looking for an Assistant Chef to join their team. You will be required to support the Chef Manager to deliver a first class food service.

You must have:

  • previous catering/cooking experience
  • a knowledge of health and safety legislation in a kitchen
  • a first class understanding of food hygiene regulations
  • a sound knowledge of catering practices
  • a Level 2 Food Safety Certificate and a NVQ Level 2 in Food Production & Cooking
  • knowledge of Government Nutritional Guidelines
  • the ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • great organisational skills

It is preferable that you have a background of working in schools although this is not essential. If you are innovative, hardworking, with a passion for catering and a will to consistently deliver a superior service we want to hear from you.

About us:

Our purpose-built building opened in January 2018 and provides places for students aged 3-18 with a diagnosis of autism and/or Severe Learning Difficulties. The Academy currently has 100 students on roll from Reception to Year 11.
