Salary: £20,812 - £21,968 FTE (£17,981 - £18,980 pro rata)

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant here at City of Peterborough Academy. 

The successful learning assistant will support the Class Teacher to carry out a range of activities to promote and support learning and development. This will include working on a one to basis and in small groups as well as giving support to children with additional needs who may require physical intervention on occasion.

You will be:

  • keen to learn with a positive outlook
  • able to work on your own initiative
  • experienced in working with children
  • able to work as part of a team
  • willing to undertake training
  • enthusiastic and have the skills to challenge and motivate all our pupils.

You will need a good understanding of how to support children who may need extra support. You will need to be able demonstrate you can develop trusting relationships, be caring, flexible and an excellent communicator.

The City of Peterborough Academy was opened in September 2013 by Greenwood Academies Trust (GAT) after a £13.8m capital build. Based on Reeves Way in Peterborough, the academy has quickly grown from strength to strength. A dedicated team of staff aim to help support every child in reaching their full potential. Additionally, we have been described as a truly ‘inclusive school’ at our recent National Inclusion Quality Mark inspection and have also been awarded 'Centre of Excellence Status'. We were also ‘runners up’ at the 2020 National SEN awards for National Most Inclusive Practice.
