This is an exciting opportunity to play an instrumental role in shaping and influencing the provision at Purple Oaks Academy, as a result of reviewing our leadership structure.

We have a new and exciting opportunity for a committed and talented aspiring, or current, senior leader who can lead on the Quality of Education at the academy in relation to SEND students.

You will be able to demonstrate a range of leadership skills in supporting and challenging middle leaders to develop the curriculum across the age range and lead on the intent, implementation and impact of this critical area for students with special educational needs and disabilities.

To be successful you will possess:

  • demonstrate an outstanding record as a leader and will be able to realise the ambitious vision of securing excellence in every aspect of academy life
  • specialist knowledge and experience of working with children and young people with autism
  • expertise in analysing SEND data and working with others to implement successful interventions
  • experience in developing SEND curriculum pathways
  • the ability to engage constructively with, and relate to, a wide range of young people from different backgrounds
  • excellent communication skills, at all levels
  • the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

About us:

Our purpose-built building opened in January 2018 and provides 100 places for students (3-18) with a diagnosis of autism and/or Severe Learning Difficulties. The academy is very popular and currently has 116 students on roll from Reception to Year 13. Our students have a complex range of needs and cover a full breadth of academic ability. We teach our students in small classes of 8-10 students with high levels of adult support.
