Salary: £9,279 FTE (£8,017 pro rata)

Fixed term for 24 months.

Working towards a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Standard, you will assist the class teacher to provide high quality teaching and learning support to pupils.

Main responsibilities (with support and under supervision):

  • Supervising the activities of individuals or groups of pupil
  • Assisting pupils with a variety of personal self-help skills
  • Ensuring the health and safety of all pupils at all times
  • Assisting pupils in the use of all classroom resources
  • Preparing curriculum equipment and learning resources for the classroom

 We are looking for someone with: 

  • excellent communication skills
  • the ability to form good working relationships within a professional environment
  • an understanding and awareness of the complex needs of the academy’s pupils
  • a hands – on and practical approach to work

The Dogsthorpe Academy, part of the Greenwood Academies Trust (GAT), is a junior academy situated in a diverse community in the north of Peterborough. It is led by the Principal, Julie Cranke, who aims to ensure that it delivers an exciting, innovative and creative curriculum that meets the needs of the pupils.
