Class Teacher (Specialist Autism Provision)

MPR/UPR plus a SEN allowance

Fixed term 01/09/22 to 31/12/22

Interviews to take place: w/c 6 June 2022

We are looking to recruit a talented and committed teacher to work in a Primary class within our specialist autism provision for a one term. The post is open to ECTs. 

The Role

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic teacher with experience and a passion for teaching children with SEND. The successful applicant will have a firm but nurturing approach, a relentless focus on pupil progress and high expectations of pupil learning and behaviour. They will also have a creative and innovative approach to engaging pupils and overcoming barriers to learning. Training in approaches to teaching the wide range of pupils on roll will be provided for the successful applicant e.g. physical intervention, autism.

Your application should demonstrate your experience, commitment, knowledge and passion for working with children with SEND and autism, along with a willingness and enthusiasm to contribute further to the wider life and ethos of the school. The successful applicant must be committed to their own professional development and be willing to engage in training opportunities and will be required to teach the whole primary curriculum. About Us

Nethergate Academy is an Outstanding special academy in the City of Nottingham for 158 pupils aged 5-19 with a range of moderate and complex learning difficulties, many have additional needs (including autism, social and emotional, communication, sensory and/or medical needs). In September 2019 we opened our new specialist provision for children with autism as their primary need.
