About us
Rushden Primary Academy is a GAT academy in Northampton. The academy is a welcoming and friendly school that delivers a rich and engaging curriculum to pupils from Reception to Year 6. Ofsted rated the academy as ‘Good’ in June 2018. The academy is set in large grounds with ample playground and field spaces for pupils to use. The building caters well for all pupils, providing quiet spaces for group work, a large well-resourced open plan library, a hall and dedicated rooms for more practical based work.

Built in 2014, the light and airy spaces make the academy a pleasant place to learn. The academy has great potential for further development with an aspirational and committed leader at the helm! Pupils are well behaved and eager to learn. In return, staff are ambitious to build on their continuous commitment to raise outcomes for all and welcome professional development opportunities.

We are looking for an experienced Principal or Deputy Principal to strengthen and lead the committed team of staff at Rushden Primary Academy through the next phase of their journey, ensuring the delivery of an engaging, broad and balanced curriculum.  The academy enjoys a positive relationship with parents and so working effectively with the local community is essential to continue to raise the profile of the academy.

You will have support from the wider trust network of experts and have access to a huge range of informal support and professional development.

Are you a leader who:

  • Has relevant and up to date knowledge of teaching and learning strategies across the primary phase;
  • Is excited about working with colleagues to develop an aspirational and broad curriculum;
  • Leads staff effectively to deliver high quality learning experiences for all pupils, including those with high levels of educational need;
  • Has a thorough understanding of factors that influence pupil performance and how to overcome barriers to learning;
  • Has strong organisational skills and is relentlessness in driving educational improvement and raised standards for all pupils;
  • Has significant experience of leading and developing others, in particular middle leaders;
  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Has previously led a team of people through change and improvement;
  • Has the skill and ability to engage parents and the community in the life of the school.

We are hoping for a start date of January 2023, depending on the successful candidate’s current position.

If you would like further information, to arrange an informal phone call or online teams meeting, please contact the academy’s Education Director, Vicci Godbold on:  vicci.godbold@greenwoodacademies.org
