Salary: £19,650 - £20,043 (£13,192 - £13,456 pro rata)

We are seeking a passionate and committed Learning Assistant to support pupils at the Newark Hill Academy.

Working under the direction of the Class Teacher, you will promote development and learning, and will help to ensure full participation. This position will include working with small groups.

You should: 

  • have a range of behaviour management methods and be able to adapt learning strategies to meet the needs of specific pupils
  • be able to build rapport with pupils in order to support one to one working
  • have the ability support whole class/small groups and deliver interventions for pupils
  • be well organised and have high expectations of achievement and behaviour
  • possess excellent communication skills at all levels in order to be able to liaise effectively with parent/carers and outside agencies
  • be a skilled professional with a wealth of experience with dealing with pupils who have Autism

Experience working in a school setting preferable. Previous experience of working in a similar role or with children with Special Educational Need as well as holding a First Aid certificate would be advantageous.
